Message from 'Dr. Gaurav Chaudhary' Chairman of the Society

The organic/natural market in India and across the World is expanding rapidly as it has the potential to create a healthy agro ecosystem and ensuring chemical free produce to consumers. India holds a true potential to be the leader in organic/ natural produce given its diversified agro-climatic regions for various agricultural products including dairy. However, as it is a well-known fact that about 80% of agriculture is done by small and marginal farmers, it is important that they are organised and the most prudent model for this is cooperative form of enterprises realising the economies of scale by aggregation and subsequently providing suitable market linkages and thus maximising the return to the farmers. To realise the potential and cater to the demand for the organic/ Natural products, I am happy that with guidance from the Ministry of Cooperation, several institutions of repute like NDDB, GCMMF (Amul), NAFED, NCDC and NCCF have come together to form an umbrella organization- Agriculture Development Marketing Co-operative Society Ltd. (ADMC), registered under the Multi State Cooperative Societies Act 2002. Several other organisations are also progressively joining it as members to take forward the vision of “Sahakar Se Samriddhi”. This state and national level organisation will undertake and promote aggregation, branding and marketing of organic/ natural products through facilitating various activities including certification, production, testing, procurement, storage, processing, labelling, packaging, logistics support etc., of organic/ natural products besides creation of knowledge repository, research and development in the field of organic/ natural farming. In true sense, setting up of Agriculture Development Marketing Co-operative Society Ltd. (ADMC) is a big turning point to usher in organic/ natural revolution in the agriculture and allied sectors with an aim that on account of better price realisation and market access, farmers will adopt organic/natural farming. "The expertise of cooperatives has helped bring about a national movement to jointly advance organic and natural farming."
